Sister Church Nyanza Parish
Our Sister Church in Nyanza
As part of the Anglican Mission in the Americas, the Rwandan Anglican Church came to our aid in a time of deep distress in the North American Church, providing us with leadership, oversight, and protection that allows us the freedom to plant Biblically-faithful and missionally-minded churches like Apostles all over the US. We are partners together in the work of Christ.
Rwanda continues to rebuild after the 1994 genocide that swept the country, killing 1 out of every 8 people in the small country. The church has much work to do in Rwanda, and we are committed to helping them rebuild a society based on the Gospel and to meet the great needs of its people. Some of these needs include HIV/AIDS education, theological education for their church leadership, support of the thousands of genocide and AIDS orphans, education for the children, structures for the communities and the church, and many more.
We are partnered with a sister church in Nyanza, Rwanda, a city in the southern part of the country. Our connection with Nyanza parish allows us to focus our time and resources to make a difference in this region. We know the leaders and people personally and keep in regular communication with them. This way our shared ministry to each other is based on close relationships not just organizational connection. It has been amazing over the years to see these relationships grow and deepen.
